Kate Wackett

Kate Wackett lives in Mexico City, where they work as a translator and independent researcher preparing country conditions reports for asylum cases. With Professor Elliott Young, they have provided research assistance for the cases of over 600 asylum seekers from Central America, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela. They have also provided legal support for trans asylum seekers through the Trans Asylum Seeker Support Network based in Massachusetts. Kate has worked with the Migration and Asylum Lab team as a researcher for the country bulletins and as an assistant to Elliott Young on the 2023 fact-finding mission.
